Final Exhibition Reflection

Last week we had our exhibition night it was so much fun! Apart from when we had to perform  our PE dance to everyone at the start. We had the chance to explain to everyone about how we feel about our issue, I think I did well during the stages of the exhibition and how my group and I presented it. I feel that we should reduce the amount of additives, colours and preservatives that we use in our food today because they can cause health and behavioural effects on the human body, here are some of the effects:

  • Bloating
  • Rashes
  • Reflux
  • Loud voices
  • Easily distracted/ annoyed
  • Can have fits

 

I have learnt many things during the exhibition, like that in Australia your allowed to mention no artificial additives, colours or preservatives if there is less than 5 percent of it in foods and drinks.

I think I could improve on explaining what I have researched about to others, as I am not very confident when speaking to the public as I feel that I might make mistakes.

 

I’m happy that I chose this topic because I’m allergic to additives in food and because I want to explain to everyone how it can effect others not just people allergic to additives.

 

For the taking action stage of our exhibition I chose to write some letters to important ministers and to grow a healthy, preservative free and chemical free garden that produces fruits, vegetables and spices. The location my group and I have chosen is the back of our school garden.

Merry Christmas the girl said to her mother I cant wait until tomorrow the big day CHRISTMAS she shouted. I cant wait ether said the mother time to get ready for bed yelled the mother. The next morning the young girl woke up her parents and sat on there bed, to receive her presents. After that they got up and had some delicious creamy eggs and wonderful crunchy bacon with soft toast.then the girl ran and ran as fast as she could to the Christmas tree, she had the presents in her sight then poof they where gone, she ran to her mother and said but where did they go.

Today Johnny was going fishing for whiting on his uncles boat, he had to wake up really early to be on the water at the high-tide. As soon as Johnny woke up he put his clothes on and took out his rod and real form his shed. When his uncle picked him up they got on the water straight away, when they where driving to the spot that is 12 kilometres off Shaw they saw some birds diving down. So they dropped their lines down and waited, and zzzzzzz Johnnys real was screaming when he pulled up the fish he thought it was a whiting but it was a snapper, it was heavier than he expected.

this week for exhibition I finished one line of inquiry, and I started my second line of inquiry. After that I had a mentor meeting to see what I need to improve on. Also I started to record the scores I received information from.

Food additives, colours and preservatives so this story is about and boy that is selfish and he eats and food that has preservatives in it we also had to use the words bicycle, yellow, desperate, greedily and warned but i only used yellow, desperate and greedily

One day there was a really selfish boy named Carl he was warned by his parents to be helpful to others, otherwise he would be, In deep trouble. The next day Carl made breakfast for himself when his sister asked him to make breakfast for her, the parents yelled that’s it your acting to greedily. So Carl packed his clothes and some yellow tomatoes, that his parents had wrote do not eat on them because they had artificial additives and preservative in them. Carl was desperate to eat this tomato that looked so juicy and delicious so he took a bite, he felt so weird and he passed out.

This week for exhibition I completed my poem and I have started to make a poster on additives, colours and preservative. I think I am going well with the progress I’ve made during the exhibition, also I have finished everything asked on my checklist. I am starting to plan how my stand is going to look, by making posters, decorations and videos. This is one of my poems that I’ve wrote:

Blueberries are red,
Apples are blue,
Food has to look brand new,
It has to be colourful to,
The life of food depends on you,
There are additives, colours and preservatives to,
And they might be affecting you

This week for exhibition I completed all my fact sheets on the information that I found. Also I completed my media arts video, when I was completing my music part of the video I went onto GarageBand and made my own music. Soon I will finish my poem that I started to write and also I’m half done on making my graph. Next week I will be back with more information about my progress during the exhibition.

Birthday Graph

Today we made a graph on everyone in our classes birthdays. I had three fails, on my first draft I stuffed up on colouring in and the neatness of my writing. So I created a second draft which was neater but I still had to colour it in better and colour it in with coloured pencils. On my third try I Coloured it in with pencil, but I still could of improved on it. So then I had a fourth go at it and wrote neatly and coloured it in perfectly. Hi everyone today I wrote a 100 word challenge on two people as a statue. We received this topic by going on to a website name 100wc.net, this is my writing I hope you enjoy it.

One day I was walking past a store named boxes galore. I saw this huge box, I didn’t know what was in it, but I wanted to find out what it contained. So I called my friend and asked him if he wanted to come on a heist with me, around dawn, he replied yes. So at dawn my friend bob and I sneakily left our houses and met out the front of the shop, when we arrived the doors where locked so we had to smash the glass. But when we opened the big box we realised that it was just a statue of two men.

This week for exhibition I completed my second line of inquiry and have almost completed my third one. Also this week, we have been finding out information and sorting out our information. During finding out I succeeded to find some primary sources and I found some secondary sources.

Sorting out is when we sort out our information into information we need and information we don’t need. My sorting out went ok but I did not get to finish answering all my questions but I answered most of them.

Also, this week when I was finding out, my mum showed this helpful book on my topic named The Failsafe Cookbook. Also as I was researching I have been bookmarking websites so that I can come back to them and gain more information.

Last of all we had to complete the going further process, which is when you finish sorting out and seeing if that there is anymore information that we can find out.
